Student(s) will work on building and operating various experiments on nonlinear waves (solitons), pattern formation in viscous fluids (the 'fluid mechanical sewing machine') and the morphology of icicles.
Working apparatus and code. A write-up and a 20 minute talk at the end of the project.
LabView and python programming important. Machine shop training (might be willing to provide). Students with design/build experience and willing to tinker in an unstructured lab environment.
