Parkinson's disease subtypes and mortality
Subgroups of patients with Parkinson's disease have been identified by cluster analysis of a longitudinally followed cohort. The association between these subgroups and survival in Parkinson's disease would provide evidence for their clinical relevance. The project would involve collecting data on vital status of individuals in the cohort through a combination of existing databases and email communications with medical centres caring for these individuals/research sites. After data collection, analysis of the relationship between survival and subgroup membership may be done by the student or by a statistician depending on the student's skills. Associations between subtype membership and other outcomes may also be explored.
